Consul’s founder, Gildo Consolini, Ph.D., LCSW, earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College, his master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Social Work, and his doctorate from New York University’s School of Social Work. He completed psychoanalytic institute training at The New York Center for Psychoanalytic Training. He subsequently taught at the institute and New York University. He has published papers in peer-reviewed professional journals on a variety of mental health topics and has conducted continuing education workshops for mental health practitioners for more than twenty-five years.
His decades of experience allow him to get to the heart of the matter quicker and enables those who are in therapy with him to begin feeling better about themselves and the issues that brought them into therapy early in the process. His doctoral education and specialized postgraduate training prepared Gil to work in a highly effective manner with individuals struggling with a wide variety of psychological, emotional, and interpersonal problems.
Gil has been adept at engaging those who have never seen themselves as needing a therapist’s help with their unhappiness, anxiety, traumatic experience, professional challenges, or problems in their relationships—including men reluctant to come in with their partners for counseling to improve their communication and emotional connection with each other.
Gil carefully tailors his approach to each unique treatment situation. Although he draws primarily from contemporary psychodynamic theory and practice concepts to guide his understanding and approach to clients, he incorporates other conceptualizations as well depending on the needs of the individual and of the clinical situation, including attachment theory, mindfulness, CBT, and EFT.
Gil also has extensive management and leadership experience in hospitals and other health care organizations as well as clinical practice settings. This has enabled him to relate well to and assist those coping with the day-to-day pressures and challenges one often faces in profit and non-profit companies and organizations.
Gil’s practice has been informed and benefited greatly as well from his experience as a husband and parent.

With considerable time in the business world and proficiency in multiple psychodynamic methods, David brings a unique background and manifold of modalities to offer you effective therapy.
His general approach is psychodynamic, employing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. The core of David's treatment is built on a strong therapeutic alliance in which trust, respect, and realness develop, and at times humor may be used. "While I am always on your side, I will challenge you in service of examination, change and growth. The goal is to identify and cultivate your strengths; deepen your core, enhance self-reliance, and personal mastery so as to achieve greater fulfillment. When relevant, we build tools together so the “takeaways” can be utilized in the other 167 hours a week that you live".
David earned his bachelor's and master's from the University of Pennsylvania, MBA and MPH from Columbia University. After working as a EVP Managing Director of Grey Advertising, David sought out a career change, beginning his psychodynamic education with a MSW from Fordham University. After spending two years training at the Training Institute for Mental Health and with EMDRIA to become a certified EMDR therapist, he obtained his LCSW license for New York, Connecticut, and Florida. As a psychotherapist, business coach, husband, father, son, brother, and friend, David is looking forward to helping you navigate life's many challenges.
"We often come into therapy with a particular problem at hand. Perhaps it's difficulty navigating a life transition, relationship troubles, grief, identity development or one of the many other tensions that can come up throughout the life cycle. I provide an insight-oriented approach that emphasizes curiosity about the self and profound trust within the therapeutic relationship. This allows us to better understand and manage the initial problem bringing you into therapy as well as facilitating a truly healing experience of deep self understanding and acceptance."
Samantha's therapeutic approach is largely informed by a relational psychodynamic framework, while also integrating other theoretical perspectives when appropriate to uphold the uniqueness of each individual or dyad. She believes that the trust fostered in the therapeutic relationship is central to healing the wounds created by past relational experiences.
"Together, we will foster a trusting and collaborative treatment that will allow you to release tensions caused by shame, harmful psychological defenses, and relational wounds. We will explore your past, present, and hopes for the future through a lens of self-reflection with the purpose of deepening your relationship with yourself and others."
